OTTAWA, the National Capital Region of Canada |
||||||||
Ottawa is the capital of Canada. It mirrors the
diversity of this vast and beautiful country. Formerly called Byward Town,
named after Col. John By who founded Ottawa in 1827, just across the
Ottawa, is at the mouth of the Gatineau River, forms part of the
metropolitan area. The Rideau Canal separates the city into upper and
lower towns. It lies in the southeastern corner of Ontario along the
banks of three rivers: the Ottawa, Gatineau and Rideau. Ottawa is also the
financial, business and scientific research capital of the country with
more than 1,800 technology companies. This website gives great ideas of visiting, living, studying and working in Ottawa. |
